Ulrike is a theater maker, director and scenographer. She started her career as an actress and puppeteer, specializing in traditional and avant-garde puppet theater in Japan. In 2006, she founded the Ulrike Quade Company, with which she has since created interdisciplinary and visual theatre.
Her productions combine new technologies with current social themes, in which innovation and the spirit of the times play an important role in both form and content. Her performances, ranging from intimate lunchtime theater to large-scale operas, are performed both nationally and internationally.
Roboverse
Autonomous drone kills human beings. No human in the loop.
Roboverse explores the underbelly of technology, the robot from within. What does the world feel like from a robot’s perspective? A dancer, a drone and different robots share the stage — their sensors turning movement into sound and music. Human and machine mirror and challenge each other, from target to companion.
Together with scientists, technologists and artists (Utrecht University/Dramaturgy for Devices, ICK), we work toward an alternative future with technology. There may be other ways of looking at the other.
