Wanted: Board member (chairperson) with expertise in fundraising and (digital) technology

23 december 2025 – We are looking for an enthusiastic chairperson who can strengthen the Ulrike Quade Company Foundation with:

– Knowledge of digital technology transition and robotics

– Expertise in fundraising

– A network within the cultural, technology implementation, and/or academic world

– An affinity with innovative, interdisciplinary theater, research, and development

– Willingness to contribute to the development of the foundation in an unpaid capacity, in the role of chairperson

Profile

The ideal candidate:

– Ideally has a background in the technology sector

– Has demonstrable experience in fundraising

– Is able to contribute strategically to the future of the foundation

– Contributes to increasing diversity within the board

– Is willing to meet 4 to 5 times a year and be available for advice on an occasional basis

What do we offer?

– A stimulating board position at a progressive Amsterdam-based (and internationally renowned) theater company, primarily in collaboration with thought leader Ulrike Quade.

– The opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative visual theater.

– Dorien Lathouwers (stepping down as chair due to reaching maximum term limits)

– Charlotte Roosblad-Adrian (treasurer)

Artistic director Ulrike Quade is a leading researcher and theatremaker in the theatrical application of new digital technologies and robotics.

The Company collaborates with Utrecht University, various technological partners, and partners from the theatre field.

Objectives

Ulrike Quade Company’s main objectives are:

– To promote the quality and development of puppetry, theater, and other visual media in the Netherlands and abroad.

– To stimulate research and development of contemporary forms of digital technology, robotics, and (virtual) puppetry.

– Exchanging experiences and ideas with active players and groups in the field

– Telling new stories arising from recent developments in technology such as AI, in order to generate more insight and stimulate discussion.

A dancer, a drone and different robots share the stage — their sensors turning movement into sound and music. Human and machine mirror and challenge each other, from target to companion.
