In collaboration with philosopher Simon(e) van Saarloos, Ulrike Quade Company creates a performance about the most heated discussion on bodies with wombs and self-determination. A sky of foetuses forming a seductive choir. A sky where born humans—through distinctions made into separated individuals—would like to belong.
The oppositions in the debate on abortion uphold each other, perfectly balanced. The one side cannot exist without the other.
With this performance Ulrike Quade Company celebrates the fiftieth, fragile anniversary of Roe vs Wade (1973). A Sky of Foetuses invites us into a world in which abortion, violence and life itself have gained a new meaning.
